About the client -

The Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation (CSF) was the client for my Masters in Marketing Capstone project.

The CSF is a 100-year-old non-profit organization that administers scholarships to deserving students in the Greater Cincinnati region.

The challenge & recognized 'pain point'-

The CSF had twice as many scholarship applicants as the number of scholarships available. There was a need for a greater number of donors and funding for the organization.

Objective-

Providing a path and know-how for the brand to ensure that no deserving student gets denied a scholarship

Executive Summary-

The Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation (CSF) should connect with their target audience by catering to their needs and focusing on the foundation’s core purpose, core competence, and legacy. With the provided valuable insights, strategic plan, and recommendations on implementation, the CSF will not have to struggle with not being able to help and match the students’ needs anymore

Work done-

  • Big Picture Analysis of Marketing Strategy

  • In-depth stakeholder interviews & secondary research

  • Core competency analysis

  • Rewriting the Value Proposition

  • Attribute Value Map

  • Donor positioning matrix

  • Creation of Donor Personas

  • Brand Purpose - the organization's 'Why'

  • Donor Journey map & Experience map

  • Marketing kit & Digital experience recommendations

  • Content Marketing Plan

  • Introduction of a new donation program

The executives attending my final presentation were highly impressed with the thought-provoking insights and actionable suggestions that I had for the business.

This semester-long project and working with the organization taught me a lot about managing client relationships and non-profit marketing. I was also able to sharpen my skills in time-management, adaptability, and working under pressure. The final stages of this project were concluded while working from home in quarantine, so I have also been able to successfully navigate, adapt, and perform in these new circumstances.
