Product Innovation using SIT techniques

I took an 8-week course in Systematic Inventive Thinking (SIT) taught by one of the thought leaders of the process. As a part of this course, we were encouraged to use each innovation principle on a variety of products and services to test our new knowledge about the techniques.
Learning about, and ultimately becoming proficient in applying these techniques along with understanding the closed-world and inside-the-box concepts was a great experience and very informative. Product innovation is an increasingly important skill for marketers and I am glad that I was able to successfully learn these techniques so I can efficiently contribute to the marketing strategy.
The final project that I worked on for this course was to innovate new product concepts for a bed. Each of the 5 SIT techniques was used to create a unique and novel product that would have utility for the consumer.
